The deadline for applications to be considered for The Guardian Student Media Awards is this coming Friday (13 July). This is the 28th year The Guardian has sponsored the Student Media Awards. If only other media outlets took a similarly enlightened view.
Prizes are awarded for the following areas:
1. Best Student Newspaper
2. Best Student Magazine
3. Best Student Reporter
4. Best Student Feature Writer
5. Best Student Photographer
6. Best Student Publication Designer
7. Best Student Website
8. Best Student Critic
9. Best Student Broadcaster
10. Best Student Sports Writer
11. Best Student Diversity Writer
12. Best Student Travel Writer
13. Best Student Columnist
The awards will be decided by a worthy collection of judges who will award the students a combination of money and work experience in the print and broadcast media.
